Jagua Aftercare: How to Keep Your Tattoo Vibrant and Long-Lasting
For the best results with your jagua gel tattoo, follow these important aftercare steps to ensure a deep, beautiful stain that lasts.
Your stains can be here too! (Client's Stains)
Leave the gel on for 3 to 6 hours. Once dry, Me-fix tape will be applied (included with your jagua gel purchase) to prevent smudging and protect your design.
When it’s time to remove the gel, gently peel off the tape to avoid skin irritation. Then, rinse the area with cool water to remove any residue and pat dry. Your jagua stain will start faint but will gradually darken over the next 48 hours.
Aftercare is key to maintaining your beautiful jagua tattoo!
For the first 8 hours, avoid getting it wet. Use petroleum jelly or light massage oil before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to protect the design, and avoid any activities that could rub or irritate the tattooed area. Be gentle with your tattoo area, avoiding any rough contact.
If you're active and might sweat, apply antiperspirant, and always use sunscreen when tanning. Keep your skin hydrated and moisturised, but steer clear of hot tubs and Jacuzzis, as well as long soaks in the bathtub – they can affect your tattoo and make your skin sensitive.
Your gorgeous jagua tattoo deserves the best care to stay vibrant and beautiful!
Protect Your Jagua Tattoo
For at least 8 hours after removal, avoid getting your tattoo wet to help the stain develop fully. Before bathing, swimming, or sleeping, apply petroleum jelly or a light massage oil to shield your design from moisture and friction.
Avoid any activities that may cause rubbing, irritation, or sweating in the tattooed area, as this can affect the stain’s longevity. If you are active or prone to sweating, use antiperspirant nearby but do not apply directly on the tattoo.
Always wear sunscreen on your tattoo when exposed to sunlight to prevent fading. Keep your skin moisturised, but avoid hot tubs, Jacuzzis, or long baths, as prolonged soaking can lighten your tattoo and irritate the skin.
